Lya Badgley is the award-winning author of The Foreigner’s Confession and The Worth of a Ruby, both recognized by major literary awards, as well as her newest novel, The Thirty-Fifth Page. Her work blends magical realism, psychological suspense, and historical depth, exploring how landscapes shaped by conflict mirror characters burdened by grief, moral uncertainty, and a search for meaning.
Drawing on lived experience—from interviewing insurgents and documenting genocide records to opening a restaurant in Myanmar—Badgley crafts authentic stories rooted in resilience. A former city councilmember and lifelong environmental advocate, she now lives and writes in Snohomish, Washington in the United States. Visit her at lyabadgley.com
